HUB CITY LOVE
Compton is slowly changing. The generations that lived here until now have historically seen a lack of access to public services and opportunities like many communities of color across the nation. The depictions of the CPT are often stereotypical and don't show the nuances of the diverse groups that live and work here. We see our home differently.
We'd like to extend a platform to the residents here so that their voices are heard and a light is shed on their experiences. This photo book and short film project will touch on timely topics such as education, access to healthcare, food security, economic development and cultural preservation.
